I need you to know, whatever happens, wherever you go, you’re not gonna do it alone.
After a case of 'mistaken identity' following a violent riot on the asteroid Ceres, both the local security and a Belter faction were looking for you. You and some fellow space adventurers escaped Ceres with the help of a Belter woman, Maia. Maia's condition for her help was that you help her find her brother on 9 Metis, another asteroid in the Belt.
After an investigation on 9 Metis, you discovered that Maia's brother was dead. Maia's brother was transporting sensitive data and many people were looking for it. The 'chip' containing this data was now in your hands, and these factions were now looking for you. Your plan was to escape on the ship that Maia's brother bequeathed to her, the Picus, but not until you gave up that 'chip'.
You left 9 Metis without further incident. Having no interest in the life of a trader, Maia gave the Picus to you as a co-owner on the condition that you continue her brother's legacy of being traders in the Belt. She would be content to live on Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter, the birthplace of her and her brother -- as long as you went visit on occasion!
Over the last few months, you and your new 'crew' have become 'legitimate' traders and couriers. As is the nature of the Belt, you sometimes had to bend the rules, which sometimes you less than appreciated by certain groups and factions. Still, you have mostly been under the radar of the large corporations, as well as the powerful inner planets. But with the ongoing hostilities between Earth and Mars, as well as that disturbing incident on Eros, life in the Belt has become increasingly dangerous. More than every, you have to watch out for anything and be wary of anyone.
It's now time to visit Ganymede to see Maia (and pay her portion of the trading earning). All you need is one last shipment, preferably to Ganymede. You hope this will all go without incident....
The Expanse RPG is based on the Syfy TV series The Expanse. Both the series and the game are set in the not-too-distant future where humans have colonized all parts of our solar system. There are three distinct ‘nations’ of humans: Earthers, Martians, and Belters (those who live anywhere outside of the inner planets), who are in constant conflict with each other.
The Expanse uses Green Ronin Publishing’s Adventure Game System (AGE). You can click HERE to get more information on the core mechanic of this game system. You can find out more about The Expanse RPG by downloading the 'quick start' rules from DriveThru RPG.
This is a continuation of an adventure trilogy that began in CanGames 2024. You do NOT need to have played the previous scenario in order to enjoy this year's event, but past players might find satisfaction in continuing the story of this crew and its adventures in the Belt and Outer Planets.
